Nokia 6310i and CARK-91

Featured Replies

I'm going to be fitting a Nokia handsfree kit in the near future, has anyone got any instructions/experiences to share?

Recommendations for the siting of microphones and speakers would help too, I'd rather learn from other folks than turn my dashboard into a cullinder.

Cheers

That's what I've come to expect from this website, speedy, accurate, relevant and friendly advice ... thanks, I'll take a look

I used one of these...

Very easy to mount and like the picture in the last post, placing the microphone in the centre of the car is the obvoius choice. I placed the speaker for the kit at the base of the glovebox, hidden behind the fabric, keeping it out of view.

Hello. I'm an authorised engineer for Orange,my business name is Smart Installation. (on yell.com)!

Just bought a Fabia VRS, love it to bits.

Just thought I'd help by letting you know that you can connect the kit through the stereo speakers without the need of buying an expensive 'Audio Mute Lead'. When you remove the standard stereo, the sticker on the top of the head unit is labelled for the connection of the +ve and -ve speaker connections and the mute.

When a call is active, the radio will mute and come though the car speakers. - No need for ungly external speaker!

Hope this helps.

When I tried to fit my phone using a "dashmount" bracket (the one quoted as being suitable for fabia's with an in dash drawer) try as I might, I could not get the cradle to fit in a position where either it did not foul the slide out drawer or the glove box lid !

I was not alone in that as can be seen in THIS thread together with the eventual solution I went for.

Also VRS STU's site has a really great step by step phone/radio integration page HERE ... thanks Stu !
