Installing Central locking?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently bought a second hand Fabia Classic '02, and it all seems dandy.

The only problem is, it doesn't have central locking.

Is there any way of fitting this now and would it be feesible?

Also would it let me open the boot via some other method apart from the release pull inside, as I have found this to be the most annoying part of the situation...?

Cheers,

Si :)

Skoda do a kit to retro fit CDL. Its fairly labour intensive but not to difficult to fit.

But it doesnt work the tailgate. If you wanted to get the tilgate to work it would mean fitting the handle and switch and solenoid etc from a CDL model and wiring it all up.

Thankyou very much for the info :)

So would I have to go to a breakers yard or something to get the tailgate parts?

Cheers,

Si

Ive done this, and ive helped someone else doing it and wrote a short guide. Bought the central locking kit from skod dealer -£100. no boot release though.

quite a job so only doing if you have plenty of free time and patience!

Cool, any chance of having a look over that guide?

See how much work it is?

Has anyone uprated central locking to remote central locking using the Skoda kit?

Have fitted remotes to Skoda retro fit CDL.

i have a VAG universel upgrade kit for 'key central locking' to 'remote central locking' also includes alarm as part of the kit.

Id take that off you but I dont think the 50quid includes delivery to Ireland:) But I was wondering how the kit works. How do u install it?
