New Superb and adblue

Featured Replies

Hi folks

Newbie here. Be gentle with me but I have a ( maybe daft ) question.

I've got a Superb Sportline 150 tdi estate on order for delivery end of October and I wonder if anyone can tell me if this  ( I assume an MY19 model ) will require ad blue ?

Some specs I've seen state that the 190 SCR diesels use it but not the 150s,  however other sources say that all the oil burners use it.

Does anyone have a definitive answer ?

Cheers

Steve

You might getter a better response to your question if you post it in the Superb section.

Yes, she'll have AdBlue. The 2.0 TDI 150PS was one of the latest engines to benefit (or suffer with, depends on your outlook) from AdBlue.

Enjoy though, our friends have a MkIII Superb SportLine estate, a cracking car.

Hi Steve. Don't worry about adblue. There were some issues on early cars but they have been resolved. My 2017 car (190) has it. It's a complete non-issue.

3500 miles until I add mine.

Will probably get from Halfrauds with the trade card.

Could you please explain those issues and how they were resolved?

My Superb MY15 190hp has an adblue issue:

*A warning message pops up now and again and tells me that I can drive 1000km before it can't be started*

They're going to replace a leaking hose through warranty but unfortunately they told me this issue is quite common (on all adblue engines, not just skoda) in colder climates (I live in Sweden) and the VW technicians has been here trying to find a fix but there is no official solution yet, or so they say.

I believe early cars had an issue that over-filling created problems requiring dealer repair. I'm on a phone so can't post a link,  but if you search this forum you will find the relevant thread.

Aha yeah they mentioned that, you had to empty the whole system and fill it up properly and reboot it or something like that.
