Skoda and iPods'

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2016 rapid spaceback, and have been using an SD card for music but struggling with a lot of tracks not playing - just found out that is because of DRM :(

I tried the wife's iPod Nano and it worked well but not a permanent option, my iPod shuffle does not work probably because they have no display so too simple to integrate??

Before i buy something cheap off the 'bay, can anyone tell me if ANY iPod (apart from shuffle) will connect??

Don't want to waste cash :)

Thanks

I have a 5 year old nano 7 and a 2018 model Toledo with Amundsen (equivalent). The nano talks to the infotainment via Bluetooth and it all works fine.

The wired connection from ipods was historically problematic on the pre-facelift Rapids (2012-15), especially if the apple device had a litening connector.

If you have the correct Y-lead to attach the MDI headphone jack and USB to the apple connector it can work, but finding the correct Y-lead was always beyond me, hence I use Bluetooth - I do charge the ipod nano from the MDI but cannot get the tunes through it.
