Well, similarity is only basic principle and car model :D they are different systems. :D I must say that I like retrofit box design more, is more compact :)

Btw, is your system hooked to ECU, rising idle RPM and turning off ECU on full throttle?

It is connected to the ecu and it does raise the idle by about 300 rpm but i dont get what you mean by turning the ecu off on full throttle

Sorry i meant turning off AC compressor, not ECU :D

they have bodged the car with a single speed fan switch
and if you turn on the ac the fan goes onto low speed but if for any reason it switches to the second speed it stays stuck there and never drops back down to the low speed

Bodged indeed; the fan switch is a speed controller, and I think its correct operation is intrinsic to the correct operation of the air con.

yes indeed but as long as the fan is on the aircon functions properly the problem is that if the fan is on all the time it will sooner or later burn its brushes or smth

Hi
Just found the topic.
I have absolutely the same AC system in my car + hydraulic steering(1.3  mpi 50kw engine).
However did you understand if this was retrofit or original set up from the factory?
I am asking this because except mine and yours cars I know about another 2 here in Bulgaria and 1 more from Greece. And my point is that there are not only one or two cars with this systems but there are more.
The ony thing I know about mine before owning it is that she was imported from Italy.

@Raychev05This is the only setup that is documented in Etka and Workshop manual.

All Felicias 1.3 with power steering and AC from dealer have retrofit setup, because factory acessory holder doesn't have mounts for both AC compressor and PS pump.

Skoda has accounted for that and installed a sheet metal shield below the belt components

The alternator cover is the first thing that you scratch if you lowered the suspension even for 3mm in bad roads.

It was too low for the roads i was on at the time and one day i hit it in a puddle. My first visit to a workshop was for this and i paid 1000 drachmas for a new hole few mm higher, new screw and plastic housing.

this unit was made by external manufacturer (probably Diavia) and retrofitted in dealer's workshop.

Alex here in Greece.

I have seen the certification on the local Skoda mechanic which was beside the local Skoda dealer.
