Judder under acceleration

Featured Replies

Ive got a mk2 pre fl vrs derv (pd170) and when I put my foot down it judders as the revs build. Not continuous, it will judder, carry on building up speed and revs, then judder again etc.

Also, when I turn the engine off it doesnt sound very smooth....could they be related?

The car is mapped and RR'd @ 225bhp but it really doesnt feel like it at the moment.

Any help, much appreciated

Sounds like a failing DMF.

Few people have said that.

Its quite inconsistent which is anoying. I know when I take it to the garage I use it wont do it lol

Had it in the garage.

The actuator arm going into the turbo has seased. Looking at a new turbo or if im lucky a new actuator.

If you feel inclined to DIY, search the Mr Muscle trick and see if it helps.

Certainly the least expensive option. There are videos on YouTube to help.

Ended up that a flap from the EGR cooler broke off and made its way into the turbo, broke apart and siezed the actuator arm.

First garage didnt even take the turbo off before saying a new one was needed. Used my normal mechanic when he was back off holiday and he found the above issue.

Turbo re-built and car driving better than ever.

Really shows the difference bewteen a real mechanic and a garage "technician"
