Problems with my fabia vrs mk1

Featured Replies

Hey guys just bought my fabia vrs there last Tuesday and I’m having so much fun in it however there are a few things I’ve been hearing that obviously need fixing.

Problem 1. When the car is running and the clutch is engaged there is a noise but when I lift my foot off the peda the noise disappears. I made a video with the noise in the background, you can find it here - https://youtu.be/3gdI26rGq7A

Problem 2. Again must have soemthing to do with the clutch. From 1st gear to 4th everything is fine however from 5-6 I hear a weird noise, it’s similar to the noise in the video but not exactly the same. I tried getting it on video but it’s to low.

Problem 3. This has to do with the suspension. When going over speed bumps I hear a noise coming from the passenger side front. It’s not like a squeak but more of a deeper noise. This doesn’t happen all the time only when both wheels are going over the bump. If i manoeuvre over the speed bump with one side of the car going over it there is no noise on either side, only when both wheels go over it.

Lastly is my breaks. Again this doesn’t happen all the time I can drive for 10/15 mins and then my breaks will screech. The harder I press the pedal the more the noise goes away.

If anyone one can help me diagnose the problems I’m facing that would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I haven’t given enough info I’ll try get some more vids of the suspension and breaks.

Thank you!!

1/  sounds like  thrust bearing   2/ sounds like weak synchro  does it change down OK?    3/ sounds like roll bar bushes    re brakes try a good clean up and some copperslip or similar  plus may put a slight chamfer on the pads --leading edge
