Door lock error message

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a very frustrating problem on my MY 2015 RHD Scout. Error alert and message on dash - 'Error: driver door contact switch' fault. Infotainment centre shows error on LH front door. Since March 2018 the car has been back to the dealers 6 times to fix the fault with no success. They have changed: RH front door - lock, ECU, Wiring harness. LH front door - lock.

When the error codes are read and reset, the fault takes a few days to re-appear. Also appears to be impacted by temperature - when it's a hot day the fault doesn't always show but will later after the car has been driven upon switching off the ignition! Only obvious effect of the error (other than the warning on the dash) is that the Auto Stop/Start is deactivated.

When then error is present, operating any door will set the alert off with the error message 'Error: driver door contact switch'

Dealer seems to have little idea what to try. Skoda UK also appear to be floundering. Technical advice to the dealer and from Skoda UK seems to be coming from different departments that appear to have nothing in common!

Has anyone come across this fault before? Any ideas what to try next?

Thanks

Hello warthog, how has this issue gone? I have the same with my 66 plate Octavia and Skoda has had it in, under warranty, 5 times and it seemed to be fixed back in May after changing the lock strike plate, the computer for this area and another change of some part but the error message has reappeared. Thanks, Mark.
