Hi,

looking for advice on a possible gear linkage problem, my husbands Skoda ocatavia 07 plate is struggling to go into 5th gear and sometimes the lower gears, we had a repair which was some sort of nylon bushing that had gone ??

just wondering if anyone has any advice on what this could be and how hard it is the replace the bushing if it’s that again.

Before doing anything else try resetting the gear linkage as per the below video.  It can make a huge difference to how they go into gear.

 

 

Thank you, we have done this before and it was a bit better but when we took it too the garage they said it was. Bushing that needed replacing, we were never shown where this was so just wondering if anyone could shed any light as I know you can buy the part in question ???
