Window trim end caps??

Featured Replies

Hello,

I noticed that on the passenger side, there is an end cap missing on the window trim that runs along where the door panel meets the window. I am trying to track down what it might be called and if its a fairly standard part that might also be on other Skoda models. It increases my chances of finding one then. :)

Thanks,

I'm now even more curious as to how it even fell out. Here is a close up of that 5E0837477 5AP part.

So it appears there are no end caps, it should just have an end! For some unknown reason it had broken off. I can see it starting to break apart on the rear seal as well so perhaps its a common issue? Any how I can order the part from Skoda for £20 but its £100 fitting :o. They said because they have to take off the wing mirror it will take a full hour. So I may just order it and try and fit it myself, what could possibly go wrong? .

There seems to be a bit of white debris. Could someone have cut the end cap off in attempt to gain access to the car?

I'd suggest making a replica "end cap" from a scrap of rubber (make a paper template from the other side) and fixing it with either black silicone or thick superglue as a cheaper option..

The thought had crossed my mind but after noticing that the rear one is also starting to tear in the same place I think it’s happended over some time. The white debris is nothing, I have wiped it away. No signs or marks of anyone trying to gain entry either. Just a strange occurrence.

I thought about just ordering the part and cutting the end off to glue it on. So your idea is good and cheaper!

Thanks
