LED Headlight Range Control Error

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Long time reader but new to posting.

Hoping one of you may be able to help. Was driving along this morning after dropping my little girl of at Nursery when the dash of my FL displayed a Headlight Range Control Error. At the time I remember two things 1) Auto lights had just turned on and 2) The road was uneven.  I wasn't going quick, I'd say 25mph as the road was not the best - not many are around my location.

Once I arrived home, turned off and back on and the error did not come back and has not come back after collecting my little on this evening. I called the selling Dealer (Sparhatts) and the soonest they could look at it was mid October - not all their doing.

Do I have anything to worry about? Lights seem to be working fine.

Thanks in advance.

Mid October, that doesn't seem like good service.  Where did your get car from

Hi Scout,

Sparshatts are the supplying Dealer. As I mentioned, part the delay is from my end but they would not entertain me waiting while they looked at it, which is a first for any Garage for me.

The only time I’ve seen this error is when activating Highbeam Assist. I think it was this error anyway.

I've had this two or three times on my F/L 1.5TSI. It has cleared immediately after switching headlights on an off. I will mention to the dealers when it goes in for its annual next month.

I'm sure that I have had this error on my latest octavia Estate, as others have said it cleared on the next stop and restart.

I've not checked it yet with the OBDeleven, might have to plug in and have a look see.

Stonker, would be interesting to see what errors you see - you'll probably be able to check hours before the Dealer can check mine.

I've just been out and plugged in the OBDeleven, after a scan, it came up with 1 fault on the central electrics. All it came up with is as shown in the photo.

I had a quick search, but couldn't find anything concrete. Cleared the fault and it's gone. But as I and others said before, it's come, gone and not come back. Very strange in all honesty.

Sorry I couldn't shed any more light on it for you.

Just thought I'd let you all know that she went to Meadens today who found no fault or stored codes but they performed a Software upgrade on the controller.

As I have the same model as you awahwah and I'm due my first (prepaid service) from Meadens next month I will ask about this as I have had it twice both times cured by re-switching the lights.
