Be gentle,first post

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

New kid on the block,I have posted in the noob’s section.

Just purchased a 12 plate elegance. There’s three things

I’d like your thoughts on,none of them major problems,

Just a bit frustrating.First I’ve connected my iPhone 7 Plus

To the cars hands free system, the Bluetooth module under

The drivers seat has the code( 3C8-035-730B) which I believe

should not be a problem connection wise.Everything seems to

Be connected,it recognised my phone, loaded the phone book

I get the Bluetooth, battery, and signal strength in the MFD.

On the iPhone I get Skoda bt  on the Bluetooth settings ,with a tick

besides it ,but when I dial there’s no sound through the cars speakers.

If I press the speaker icon on the phone itself I can hear the call

Going through but nothing through the cars speakers, ironically

It will start to play music through the cars speakers from the phone

All be it only one side, which I believe is normal. Is there anything that

You can suggest that springs to mind.

Secondly,I was playing around with the Columbus system and

Inserted an sd card which played the music on it without any problems,I then

Just out of curiosity loaded one song onto the HDD, which loaded

Without a problem, then I tried to delete the one song I loaded

and it said it couldn’t delete active file, any ideas how to delete

music from the HDD.

Sorry folks to go on a bit.lastly ,when I first got the car I definitely opened the large tailgate with no problems at all,now it seems the handle almost

Feels as if it’s locked,I’ve looked in the handbook for a fuse for

The tailgate alone and unless I’ve missed it there doesn’t appear

To be one, again If anyone’s got any ideas it will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.Chris

To delete the music file from the hard drive, insert the SD card again and play some tracks from that. Then go into the hard drive selection while the SD card is still playing, and you'll be able to delete the track.

Hi,

thanks for the quick response. I’ve  tried that, even reset the unit using your instructions from the can’t connect to

Bluetooth thread thinking it might kill two birds with one stone,ie the iPhone connection problem and maybe the can’t

delete active track issue. I’m a bit stumped by both of them.

If it says you can't delete the active track, that means you're playing it. You need to be playing another source (sd card) to be able to delete it. When playing the sd card, don't select the HDD function, as that will then default to playing the track you want to delete.

Aah,I see what you mean,I didn’t try that. Thanks very much

Still no joy, if I’ve selected sd card I don’t have the option to delete from the HDD,it’s not available unless

you press the HDD function and then obviously you get the can’t delete active track message.

Insert SD card, and select "Play" (any track will do).

Touch "Selection" on the bottom right of the touchscreen.

Touch the "Folder Up" arrow on the top right of the touchscreen and keep going up until you see the options for SD card and HDD.

Touch the HDD info selector to the right of the HDD option and it'll open a menu for various functions. Select "Delete" or whatever it may be.

Thanks for your patience

I’m sitting in the car now, turn screen on,press the sd card in,sd card is playing, press selection

at at the top of screen two boxes sd card which is the active box and HDD box next to it

so the music from the sd card is playing,I press selection and ,at the top of the screen

On the right is the arrow to go back on the left is a box with what looks like a picture of a folder,if I press

the folder button it shows the track which is playing,If I press the smaller box on the right an options

box opens up,but only two options are available play and copy.i can’t see a way to delete tracks from

the HDD.

Press the folder button. Then press the folder button again.... then again... etc. until you get the options of sd card and hdd showing on the screen.  Then touch the box to the right hand side of the hdd option...

Welcome to the Skoda fold. I also have an iPhone 7 and Columbus with Bluetooth module. I’ve never had to do anything special to set it up. Thinking about it though, many of the features do have their own volume control as well as the master volume so with a call in progress, try turning the volume up!

Alternatively, I’ve never noticed music from my phone playing out of only one speaker, however I *think* telephone calls only use the driver speaker so if turning up the volume doesn’t help could be a failed speaker. I suspect @Rustynuts will know if I’m correct on how that works...

cheers,

Steve

Thanks Rustynuts for your patience,

all sorted.tried a cd today,don’t know why I didn’t try one yesterday,anyway 3 button presses later

all good, got to the options box selected delete and hey presto track was erased.

I realise it’s new to me,but I swear I couldn’t find those settings playing the sd card,I don’t know

if it’s because, although it played music tracks, on the card Ithere is a lot of garmin gpx files on it

As well. Anyway all sorted, and, again thank you for your time.Chris

Hi spk

unless the mobile phone speaker is seperate to the main stereo speakers that the Columbus uses

Then I can rule that out, there both working okay. I’ve been through my iPhone settings, nothing

seems to be obvious that has to be changed, and as I say it’s coming up connected on the mfd.

the only thing I haven’t done is a factory reset of the mfd itself.

                                              Regards chris
