Use to see load of Ladas going back to Russia once they had fallen to a low enough price.  Shipped by the dozen.

 

Shop in Plymouth back in the 80s would hire them out of for a fiver a day.

 

Did not need to do a bullworker session after driving one around for an hour or two.

 

But it did the job.  Second class driving is better than third class walking (or public transport).

 

If they drop the excellent Renault petrol engines in there to get the emissions OK could be another bargain. 

 

But can they do it cheaper than Dacia and would Renault want Lada to compete with the Duster in Western Europe ?

 

Would sell well in Russia, Middle East, Africa maybe. 

 

Lada effectively owns Siberia but I guess the cold slows down the rust.   They surely wouldn’t be as bad as the Alfasud though.

lol-lol,  Traders in Dacia also travelled the world buying them cheap and taking to Romania and other countries to sell or break for parts.

Buying up any they could get in Hungary and that was lots.  

 

The LADA might be OK if there were Dealers in the UK and a parts supply, but not quite as they have in that concept, they have shown that X styling for a few years now.

There was a less marmiite one being shown for a while.
