Led Drl's

Featured Replies

Hi guys/gals.

I've seen this posted elsewhere but can't for the life of me find it on the forum.

I've got a Superb mk2 FL and am wondering about switching the drls to LED. Am I right in thinking that the front Fog Light enclosure houses the fog bulbs and the drl bulbs?

I can enable DRL using the maxidot.

My headlights are not xenon.

Thanks

I definitely don't have led Drls in my main headlight. I believe that's just in cars with the xenon headlights.

I can only see one bulb down where the front fogs are

ahh k in that case its the main beam lights that are the drls

Thats right. Your DRL's on a halogen car are as per the picture below, posted recently by Silver1011 - see here, 3rd post in the thread: Skoda Superb DRL's

So to be clear, DRL on the halogen headlights utilises the main beam bulb? So it's basically just main beam on all of the time?

yes but at low power so it doesnt dazzle

I think it's actually a H15 bulb which has two filaments.

The 15W filament is used for DRL and the more powerful 55W filament is main beams.

I didn't actually. Lost interest! I can't see how they would work as they share a filament with the main beam (and LED bulbs give pretty poor projection).

Please post on here if you get anywhere though.
