Droning noise

Featured Replies

I have a really annoying droning noise coming from my vrs. I have rotated the tyres and it's still the same. Seems to get worse on smooth tarmac.  When I move side to side on the road it's still there. Thinking it was a wheel bearing.

Any other common culprits?

Does sound like engine bay, front wheels or rear end?

Sorry front end/ wheels.

Its most likely a bearing then.

Does it change pitch a little with wheel speed?

Try driving without your missus for half an hour and see if it persists.

Sounds the same as my wheel bearings at 75k

Unfortunately for me this resulted in

2 x bearings

2 x wishbone

2 x droplinks

2 x track rods

2 x inner hubs with abs rings

1 x abs sensor

1 x CV joint

Lots of swearing
