SmartLink

Featured Replies

Hello friends, I'm thinking about buying a Fabia. I've seen some cheap ones with low Kms and a 1.2 motor. I'm specially interested on the SmartLink, I've seen little cars with it included. I would like to know what is needed to install the SmartLink. I saw some comments on your Spanish Twitter as optional install after buying the car. So, cars I've seen have the Bolero radio, what it is required to install it? What models are compatible? From which year it is possible to do so? I've seen some cheap units from 2017 with Bolero radio, but I don't know if it would be possible in install SmartLink.

Your help is greatly appreciated,
Ljohn

In my opinion, save yourself the hassle and buy a Fabia after November 2016, that way you are sure Smartlink will work perfectly.

So, the car should have been produced from December, right? In that case, should any model from 2017 be good to install Smartlink? I've seen some people who couldn't get any other version than Bolero radio. How can I be 100% sure?

I don't know if Spain cars have the same equipment levels as UK cars.

See this post for some info.

Look at the options on the infotainment system of the car you are interested in and check if it has a Smartlink section.

If it has and you have Android Auto on your phone then try connection them together using a USB cable.

Proof would then be in the pudding.

Thanks AG Falco

It's not November 2016 that brought in SmartLink, my car's a March 2016 build and has SmartLink. Works beautifully.

Mine is a June 2016 Skoda Fabia and has SmartLink that works beautifully with Android Auto.

Smartlink introduced June 2015 for Bolero and Amundsen. May need to get it activated at dealer if not already activated.

Not available at all on Swing or Blues radios.
