Cylinder head bolts 1.8 TSI CDAA

Featured Replies

Hi, can anyone tell me what type, size and length bit I need for removing cylinder head bolts on 1.8 TSI CDAA engine?

Googling has got me conflicting answers, some say TX-50, others M10 RIBE or Polydrive (again, some say RIBE are not a snug fit) and I can’t find what clear bit length is required to access all bolts. As ever, any and all help much appreciated, thanks

What year is the car? Looks like there was a change of bolt in October 2012. Google images of the two part numbers here suggest maybe a Torx head on the earlier, an XZN style on the later? Don't rely on that though, just a quick and dirty stab at it.

In case anyone else needs the same info, it’s an M9 Ribe bit that’s required (like torx, but square points, not triangular), 200mm length. I sourced it from AST directly.
