Rear seat catch

Featured Replies

Hi has anybody had trouble with their rear seat release mechanism?

Welcome.  Could you please provide details of your car, which would help us to help you.

The description "rear seat release mechanism" suggests you might drive a Roomster or Yeti.  If this is the case, then be aware that the seat must be in its rearmost position before it can be released.  This is best done by sitting in the seat and sliding it back to the stop.  Advice probably applies to Kodiaq and Karoq as well.

The reason I started this post was because I could release the rear seats on my fabia I managed to get the parts I required from Skoda except the 2 clips part number 1j0885513 the have not been available since 2008 any ideas

Hi,i have on my 2002 hatch the plastic catch at top broke.

Open boot and use a flat head screw driver in the latch on the back to lift the catch off the hook welded to the body.

Hi yes know you can do it that way but I wanted to fix it I've managed to find the bits abroad and it's back to normal thanks

Yes the design is crap the handle has a plastic rod with two prongs on the end which don't last five minutes far better to remove the rod and drill a 1/8th hole where the rod was then insert a long cable tie through the top hole where the rod went if you look through the hole at the back of the seat you will see the cable tie end this needs to go through the hole on the catch then put another cable tie  on the first cable tie and tighten to the catch and job done just cut the ends short with a pair of sidecutters if you Google skoda fabia rear seat release catch you will see a bloke fitting cable ties to his volkswagen golf there are the same good luck

That's a neat and clever trick. Be neater if he cut the ends short and square!
