Sjoda rapid 2014 petrol epc light and skidding light comes on when i accelerate but not all the time car works ok no noise.
WHEN I TURN THE ENGINE OFF LIGHTS DISAPPEAR BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON
Took it to mecanic and hat stearing error and 2 break errors he cleared them after 2 days they come up again same thing
Any help please

Sounds like a defective (abs) sensor on one of the wheels, but as it is so intermittent might be a bad connection.

The plug connectors on cables can be a weakness, might be worth going to each plug and just checking nothing obvious before you go to expense of replacing parts.

Tks mate

Have a read of the thread below.

https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/454344-traction-control-fault/

I took the car to my local garage and they read the fault codes, it came up with the codes as I say in the thread below, faulty throttle position sensor. My lights came on the dash EPC and traction control (anti skid) same as yours and the engine went into limp mode, wouldn't go any faster than 50mph. Switch on and off again cured it until it happened again.

The garage tested the battery first after reading the codes, they weren't convinced it was the throttle postion sensor, that sensor would have cost £112 to supply.

The battery was over 4 yrs old and they said it was down on power when tested, my car doesn't get used much, 17k miles in over 4 years.

The garage said they've had a number of VAG group cars in over the years with odd lights pinging up on the dash, first call check the battery condition.

Anyways a new battery cured my problem, been a number of weeks now and the car has been perfect, no more dash lights appearing.  Have the battery tested before you go splashing out on anything else, it might cost you a new battery but could save you on other stuff they could charge you on before settling on fact the battery may be at fault.

Oh and BTW my Toledo (same engine as the Rapid) has stop/start so needs the higher powered battery, make sure if you need one you get the correct type if you have stop/start.

Battery is good i took it to the garage and now the throttle pedal error comes up they told me maybe the throttle valve needs changed they are not sure i still think its a sensor. Car drives ok and the lights epc and traction control come up just some time

Any ideas please

As I said above, mine came up as a throttle position sensor at fault, I was advised the battery wasn't fully charged when tested and that can cause it to throw up these fault codes and go in to limp mode.

A new battery would be cheaper than a TPS and I guess you might just be ready for a new one on a 2014 car, mine's a 2014 too but as I said it's got stop/start so puts more load on the battery.

I got a new battery lights still came up

I done this 2 days ago ( pressed the accelerating pedal full and start the engine rew it up for 30 seconds turn after the engine off and let go of the pedal) for 2 days no lights come up car is driving fine for now i see what is happening in the next couple of days tks

I charge my battery every few months (I have a little audio upgrade that tends to draw a bit of power and leave a usb charger plugged in most of the time) this has helped keep the battery going but reading this I might need to think about a replacement...
