Another 'Remapping recommendation' thread Yeti 1.8 tsi

Featured Replies

Good morning all,

I am after some advice on a remap for my yeti. I am close to a reputable garage in Irlam who offer the APR software.  I am in no doubt you get what you pay for but the APR is approx. £600 on the website. Has anyone had this software? do you know if there are ever discounts on this?

I am looking for opinions due to the vast variations I am seeing in mapping prices and performance figures. I am not after the highest BHP figures just a decent map with a good reputation.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

(Sorry for another generic mapping thread, I just haven't come across many posts from this year)

Welcome.

Before remapping i would be sure you have a 1.8TSI without Chain / Chain Tensioner Issues.

If you have not had an upgrade maybe best spend on that first.

Thank you Offski,

The car seems to be running A+ at the minute. Managed to pick up a 2011 with 21k miles. Now on 28k so have done a good variety of driving to see if any issues. Regarding upgrade, do you mean just replaced the chain and tensioners or is there an upgraded item on offer?

Much appreciated

Many thanks Offski,

I am aware of the potential issues but will be interesting to have a proper read through that thread!

Thanks again

Guessing Irlam is in Scotland. The only experience I'Ve had with a 2003 Vrs 1.8Tsi which was remapped in Essex. Went from 190bhp (Skoda claim 177bhp for this engine) to 230bhp at 5,500rpm. Torque also went from 193lb/ft to 230 (Skoda claim 173lb/ft). Should add car always run on 99 octane super unleaded.:biggrin:It averaged 30mpg before and after remap.

Irlam is on the outskirts of Manchester, just off the M62/M60 ring road near Salford

Thank you too busy working to Google it.:notme:

OT, but here i go anyway.

If someone was in Scotland and had a 1.8TSI and wanted to go somewhere with people with all the gear and more than an idea this could be the perfect place.

I suppose I deserve that. No just 94 containers of cuddly toys for SANTA to dispense in 2 months time. Fortunately next week only 81 containers due to arrive, so more time to GOOGLE.:tongueout:

Last coach I was on was a couple of years ago on a day trip to La Gomera from Tenerife. What a beautiful place and well worth a visit. Celebrated the wife's 21st Birthday again that day and got back to the hotel in Costa Adeje to find a chilled bottle of Champagne in our room. Nice surprise to finish a perfect day.B)
