Afternoon all, just joined up today having bought a new Kodiaq 6 weeks ago. I got confused straight away as my normal user name elsewhere is old man, but I now see that there's another one already here from Somerset, so I've had to reincarnate myself as olderman !

I've had a couple of Skodas in the past, namely an Octavia and a Superb - both estates - and I liked them both, so I'm hoping that I feel the same about the Kodiaq as time goes on. I certainly like driving it and this is my first ever auto in over 50 years of driving.

The Kodiaq has already been back to the dealer because of a faulty infotainment unit, and as yet I don't know if the issue has been resolved. I am currently acting as a guinea pig for Skoda UK because they don't have a known fix for the problem, other than replacing the unit, which they won't do until I prove that they haven't managed to fix it. I really hope that isn't a precursor of things to come !!

I haven't seen any potholes of note lately, but the general state of our roads leaves something to be desired, as evidenced by the nice roads I was driving on in Brittany recently. I expect Jeremy Clarkson would say that we paid for those !!

Whereabouts in the county are you ? For my sins, I'm not far from Bridgwater.

Just south of Shepton Mallet beyond the B & W Showground.  They recently gave us a tar & gravel treatment which was nice but the drains have concave covers so you still need to avoid them  The emojis are on the upper toolbar 8 from the left when you write a reply or new item.
