Screen of clock, km passed, and gas tank not working

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum, and honestly I don't know many things regarding cars.

I have a problem with my Skoda Fabia 1.4, 2009.

I sent my car to a car washer, and after it is washed, I noticed that on the screen behind the steering wheel, the clock, km, how much gas is left, etc. is not working.

The green light is on, yet the numbers and everything else doesn't show up.

I sent it to a guy who fixes cars, he checked all the fuses, and they seem to be okay.

Do you know what could be the problem?

Thank you in advance!

Hey guys! I didnt know the right terminology. This thing is called LCD Screen. Searching further I found out that this is a common problem with Skoda Fabias.

Solution: disconnect the minus of the car battery for 2 minutes, and try it again. Works like a charm!

Admins, you can lock this thread now :)

Thanks!

...Only just spotted this and yeah, thats the cure. It trips out if the static builds up when you polish/dust the screen, with the ignition turned on. Had it happen two or three times. Worrying at first and by the time it happens again, you forget the cure.

I would assume the cleaner did just this and tripped it out. they either never noticed or stayed quiet incase they got hit with a big repair bill!

Turn off the ignition when cleaning or take car, dust slowly and don't build up static!
