Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) Implausible signal

Featured Replies

Just got my VCDS HEX V2 cable and did an autoscan while the ignition was on for my vRS MY15 and I got these error messages. What do they mean? Do I need to get them fixed asap? Should I contact the seller? :(

I cleared the faults and the first one hasnt come back yet but Lever Sensor System still pops up from time to time

I get the starter lever error persistently and haven't had any issue in the 2 years I've had my VRS.

Wouldn't worry about it unless your car starts showing problems. There is a common issue where the lever needs replacing but you'd see errors in the car's maxidot.

If you want to change the cam position sensor they're normally a pretty easy job. Just unplug them and usually unscrew one bolt. Usually around £50 for the sensor.

Wouldn't waste your time and money if it's not causing any problems though.

Hesitation, RPM dipping and sometimes even cutting out are the symptoms of the sensor going bad.

Thanks guys! I got really worried there for a while since I bought the car just a month ago but the cam position sensor fault hasnt shown up since.

How does the car show when its having problems with the starter lever error?
