Hi guys I'm looking for some help my wife's 2009 1.6 16v tiptronnic fabia 2 the engine management light has come on faults are purge control valve and camshaft position sensor I've replaced both sensors...twice but still both faults reaccur I've had a friend plug it in at work on to a vag diagnostics programme we've got it down to possibly a wiring issue but neither are linked so I was wondering if anyone has had the same issues or could offer any advice as to the possible cause it's a great car but it driving horrible at the moment many thanks in advance guys 

Check fuse 28 in the cabin fusebox. N80 purge valve and N205 Camshaft timing adjustment valve 1 share a supply through this 10A fuse.

What exact number fault codes are showing?

Hi Wino thanks for speedy reply P0444 and p0010 that one is A camshaft position actuator circuit/open bank one... the first code p0444 says Evaporative Emission system purge control valve circuit open hope that makes sense mate

OK, that sounds consistent with my info.

Was it the cam position sensor you've been changing, or camshaft timing actuator valve, as they are different things?

That's a pity, 'cos I think that was probably fine all along.

That would be my luck lol I'll change fuse tomorrow morning and hopefully that will help I'm on work till midnight unfortunately really appreciate your help with this mate 

Hi wino sorry for late reply it's been very hectic I've now changed the fuse and so far fingers crossed it's worked just wanted to say a massive thankyou for your help with this you've saved me a fortune

if you were female id make sweet love to you, you don't know how much youve helped me, I've spent hundreds and it was a simple fuse!!!!

 

I'd settle for a cheap bottle of red. 😆
