Locking problem

Featured Replies

My ex demonstrator Mklll won’t move my seat position to my stored position when I unlock with my assigned key . Retailer says not possible on this model? As I have personisation fitted.

When u set the seat position did you store the memory? Hold ser button down for a few seconds then press the number you will hear a "bong" as confirmation

Yes I have stored it and it remembers it in the personalisation program and will go to my set position if I select my account in this, it just won’t remotely alter the seat position if required when I open the car with the assigned key.

Hello Ian and welcome. You don't give a lot of information, so some speculation on my part. Apologies if it doesn't help.

Mine has Kessy and it does move automatically when I use the handle to open the door. I've not used the fob to open, so no idea if it does the same when opening that way. But I remember personalisation was a bit of a black art when I got mine and I had to spend a bit of time fiddling with it. So a couple of suggestions:

1. Assign the key-fob to the profile manually. Go to car - settings - personalisation. If you follow the instructions on the infotainment it will ask you to press the unlock button on the fob, then it will confirm the key is assigned to the profile. This is what sorted things for me; before doing that (IIRC) it wouldn't change automatically. I found this only worked when there was only one fob in the car at the time - it didn't work for me when I had both my fob and my wife's with me when setting it up, but that could just have been user error on my part.

2. If the above doesn't solve it and you don't have Kessy, try opening the door quickly after unlocking. The manual isn't clear on this (as for so many things), but it says (my bold): "After unlocking the vehicle and opening the driver's door, all the personalised functions are adjusted according to the user account that is assigned to the key which was used to unlock the vehicle". Pure guesswork on my part, but there may be a time limit between unlock and open that is stopping it from working automatically.

3. This is also complete guesswork, but to get the seats etc to move manually to your profile, you have to hold down the right hand scroll wheel until they finish moving. Have you tried holding the unlock button after pressing it? Could work I guess.

Sorry if this is obvious, but it's worth pointing out that it won't work if the car hasn't been locked. For example if I pull the car round to the front of the house, switch off the engine without locking the car, my wife has to select her profile from the maxi-dot, even if she has her fob with her.

For information  I don’t have Kessy on my vehicle.

from what it sounds like - your driver profile personalisation has been stored successfully, but you have NOT successfully assigned that driver profile to your specific key.

under your Personalisation settings, is the Key Assignment set to "Manual"?

you could also try hoping in, select your driver profile, and then follow instructions under Personalisation to manually assign the current active user account to the key.

after unlocking with the keyfob, and u open the car door, hop in, and close the door - does the MFD show u the driver profile selected option?

its a bit like a confirmation on the welcome screen, if u have multiple user profiles stored.

this will provide an indication as to where the car is recognising which key is being used to unlock the car.

Hi, Well first thank you all for your replies and attempts to help, but you will I hope all be pleased to know that I have now been able to prove my point that my Skoda Superb does in fact respond to remote keys and move the drivers seat accordingly.

So what was the solution?

I think that for this feature to work (at least in my car) you have to use two different profiles bonded to two different profiles (maybe key 2 don't need a profile but I think it does?)

If you change seating position "manually" when using "Key 1" it won't return to stored setting one or two when entering the car with key 1 next time.

If you instead use key 2 next time (wife's key in my case) seat and mirrors will return to their last known state with that key (key 2).

And the when I later on use key 1, seat and mirrors (also radio) will return to their last known state with my key (key 1) .

I meant two different profiles bonded to two different keys :)

Hi. Thanks to all who have shown some interest and tried to assist. This problem I had has now been sorted by the local dealer Horton’s who have re programme the car which seems so far to have solved the problem, and proved that this feature is included on my model of Superb.

once again thanks for the assistance.
