A few weeks ago we started getting the dreaded flashing glow plug light on the dash and limp mode.  At times this also resulted in engine malfunction light being illuminated. Each time turning off and back on again cleared the problem, but until the faults are cleared the car runs in what seems to be half power mode.

 

My wife usually drives the car, so I haven't witnessed the issue firsthand until the last couple of days - one of the mornings I found that the glow plug light came on while joining the dual carriageway while indicating , the indicators then went a bit strange - in that there would flash on the dash with the audible tick but then miss a flash or two.  This wasn't a one off  and occurred again later on in my journey - I also lost the single flick functionality.

 

The glow plug light has come on again since, but this hasn't been linked to me indicating nor have I experienced the indicator intermittency but the fact that this occurred had made me think that it might help in starting to troubleshoot the issue. 

 

Has anyone ever come across this issue before?

Had the p0299 code but no problem with indicator.

Have you checked the turbo actuator?
