Error: Stop Start

Featured Replies

Have had this message pop up a couple of times over the past few days, it just shows for a few seconds and then goes but the stop start doesn't function, the symbol showing it inoperative doesn't show either. Car running fine apart from that. It's a 2014 Mk II 2.0 diesel estate, 71,000 miles. My initial thought is the battery reaching the end of its life but don't want to pay to replace that if it could be something else. It is intermittent though, error message showed yesterday evening, fine this morning but then after a 40 mile motorway run it came up again. Any thoughts? Anyone encountered this before? Thanks, Chris

If you aren't getting this appear on the dash then it isn't one of the normal parameters that would ordinarily prevent the stop/ start system from working...

If the car is calling it an 'error' on the dash display then it will be something else.

You really need to get the car scanned and see what fault codes are stored.
