Are the Felicia Fun sidelights...

Featured Replies

... as standard meant to be soooo bad??

Ever since I got my Fun in September, the right hand light has barely reached further than 2 metres (Edit: a bit more than that, but I'm not good at judging distance like that! Read: "Not very far!") in front of the car. The left one is a little better, but not much. I've put the difference between the two down to the beam adjuster not functioning on the right hand set of lights. If anyone has any good steps to fix this it would be appreciated.

Once this is fixed, I can tell I won't be happy with the amount of dipped light available from the current bulbs or set up, so if anyone can recommend a suitable fix or replacement, that would be great!

Many thanks!

errrm i think the fluid in the headlamp adjuster has gone mate sorry :(

I had both do this and could not see past 6' on high beam !!!

have a look and see if both tubes to the back of the lights are BLUE..... if one (the dodgy) light looks clear or white ............. the fluid has gone :(

dont bother with skoda to repair, is very easy (need thin hands) but you can right the problem in 10 mins no parts needed!

I did post this a long time ago.... lost track of the post, welcome to PM me i'll reply with what i did and what to do.

PS one is gone expect the other to follow soon!!! great system when it works.

Side lights? Assume you mean dip beam?

If so then yes above adice is sound and the repair was posted a while back.

Yeah, I meant dipped beam, have been ill, so not thinking or typing straight! Thanks for your help guys! I will try and find the thread with the fix!

I did run a search for this, as it must have been covered before, but couldn't find anything on it: What size alloys should I go for if I want to upgrade the Fun standards? I've known someone to fit 18" Fox alloys on theirs, seemingly without problems, but I wanted to hear the answer from some others.

Thanks for the help again! :)

Personally I wouldnt go any larger than 16"

But 15" I think is the best.

Really? Is that with lowering though? I measured the stock wheels and they come to 22" with tyres, can you not get 2" profile tyres then? Also what offset and rim width would I need?

Cheers!

Its not just about how big you can get the wheels.

Its how it drives and how the Felicia suspension and hubs/bearings etc cope with larger wheels.

Thanks, but I don't have permission to access that page! Must be this subscription thing on this site that I've heard about... I've read a bit about it somewhere, but didn't fully get it, as I didn't have much time!

Thanks for all the help! :)

get your hand behind the lamp' date=' turn and extract (turn and pull out) the black adjuster connected to the end of the tube that should (or once was full of liquid) you will see a brass push rod, its on a screw thread. Keep turning the screw until you push the lights back up to level.

You'll need a mate with the same car to park side-by-side facing a wall so you can gauge correctly.

Once you have extended the brass push bar, you'll see as you re-insert it the headlamp unit pushes up inside.[/quote']

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help with everything on this guys!

If I may: One last query... (well, for now!)

I am after a nice soft cover for the rear of the Fun. Thomas on here has put me in touch with the company that made his is Stuttgart, which I must say looks incredibly good quality and value for money. I wouldn't mind shopping around though and seeing what's available here first.

My local (Sidcup) Skoda dealers claim there to be a good company that makes them in Chatham, but when I asked them their name, they said they couldn't remember! Countless google searches and I still haven't found anything! Does anyone know who it is in that area of Kent who tailors such covers? Or can anyone highly recommend me anyone else?

Many thanks!

If anyone is able to help with the above post, it would still be greatly appreciated!

cheers!

  • Author

Thanks, I've emailed them to see if they're available in black!

Ok did not realise you where after black so I don't know but the quality is very good.

  • Author

No worries, thanks loads for your help! How is the cover attached to the truck?

The company in Chatham is apparently called Tarrots, but they don't seem to have any web presence whatsoever!

Looks very nice in yellow actually! Shame the Fun Clubs pictures don't show it looking like that! How does the cover look dirt-wise a few months down the line?

Also, does anyone here have any experience of the soft top seat covers on sale? I quite like the look of that!

Thanks! :)

Well the cover on mine was outside over winter and is till very clean, so quality seems good. I think I am probebly going to the the roof bit as a just in case back up.

Hmmm! I got a decision on colour to make now :P

Yeah the roof thing looks good, just I heard a horror story once about one! Think I'll grab one anyway and see for myself :)
