Park assist screen staying on moving forward

Featured Replies

My kodiak seems to have an issue where the park assist screen stays on when forward gear is selected for about ten seconds. As the radio volume mutes when in reverse this too stays muted until the screen reverts back to radio.

My dealer has looked into this and tells me there is no fault.

Anyone else found this or am I being robbed off?

Mine stays on for a little while, too.  I assume it’s in case you are manoeuvring and may be reversing again.  It’s not a problem, because if I’m not going to  be reversing, I’ll be going forward, and to do that I'll look out of the windscreen. :)

It’s also helpful while adjusting the parking position. If you reverse slightly beyond the marked space and then move forward, you can see when the marked lines become visible and you’re no longer overhanging the space.

You can adjust the amount by which the volumes reduces - anywhere from not at all to mute.  I have mine reduce slightly, so I’ll notice parking sensor beeps but can still follow the radio.

As Dave said, you can change the volume adjustment when ParkPilot is on. You can also just press the button to turn the system off, by the emergency flasher button.

Mine does this too.

As mentioned, either hit the 'X' on the screen, or the dedicated button under the heater controls to clear the screen.

The idea behind it staying on a little longer is probably down to people hitting something just after changing between forward and reverse gears.

At what speed?

The parking systems all remain active until you exceed 9mph (15kph), as they assume you're still manoeuvring.

Thanks Wiggo and others , just asked as it's the first skoda I have had that does not clear when moving forwards.

Another 'simply clever' touch !

Same here stays on till at 9mph friends Audi is the same.

My Superb 2 (FL) does this and I've always assumed this is the reason.  While its annoying on my own driveway, it's saved me mashing up a few kiddies whose mommies think that a big car maneuvering is just the right place to squeeze in a pram/trolley and often a beer belly.
