Fabia 1.4 MPI Power Steering failure !

Featured Replies

Hi

My father who drives a 2 year old Fabia 1.4 MPI Turbo Diesel is experiencing a failure in the power steering when the car is started from cold !? The ' (!) ' warning light illuminates on the dash...However when the car has been driven & is warm, stopped and started up again the problem is no longer there?? The dealer says they can not find any fault when they have checked the car..

Just wondered if anyone might know the cause or have had a similar problem.

Cheers

Charles.

does the p.a.s. actually work when its cold ? i'd let the stealer do an overnight cold start test so they can check it out when its not working

Which is it?

Fabia 1.4 MPI

or

1.4 Turbo Diesel

and what age and mileage?

I've got a simular problem to you but my car is a 03 Ibiza 1.9tdi. When i start my car up from cold the PAS light comes on then if i switch off and start again the light goes off!

Dealers had if for a cold start and light did come on but no faults came up on there computer!?

Its going back in this week for bits to be changed till they find out what part is playing up.

cheers

bruce

Have they checked the fluid level?

If thats aimed at me then yes they did well said they did when I first reported the problem.

thanks 4 the reply

Do the lights flicker on the car as well could be the angle sensor i'm led to believe brings on the light for the power steering and it will get even worse.but i might be wrong.:o:D .

Wont be the angle sensor on a 2 year old car.
