About to buy used Kodiaq checklist suggestions

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, hoping I could tap into the knowledge of some experienced Skoda users.

About to buy a used 07/2018 Kodiaq 2.0 TDI 4x4 Edition and needed help knowing what I should ask for and request.

For example, does the 3 year warranty of new cars carry over or do I only get 12 months of warranty?

All and any input would be much appreciated.

Welcome.

Is this in the UK and a Skoda Approved Used car,  An Ex Demonstrator?

How many miles has it covered?

The Manufacturers Warranty starts from the First Registration & runs for 3 years.

Mot due in 3 years when the Warranty is expiring so you get a MOT the month before, before the Warranty Expires,

or extend the Warranty around July 2021.

My apologies.

This is in the UK and a skoda approved used car. I didn't ask if it's an ex demonstrator, but it was registered in 07/2018 and has 6000 miles on it so it might just be.

Should I ask? Also I just realised I put a lot of blind faith in the skoda approved used car label and didn't enquire about previous accidents, etc.

Skoda Approved cars are checked for Finance and Accidents, but then the finance was likely VW Finance and only Insurance Clain accidents show.

So ask in writing who the First Registered Keeper was, and do they know who drove it.   Was it a Courtesy Car, Demonstrator, Managers car.

So many managers work for VW Group in the UK......

Anyway, as good from them as from anyone else.  Warranty and buy on condition, expect as nice as it was in July.   Check the wheels, tyres and all bodywork and interior.

& enjoy the new car.

Thank you Offski

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. Will follow your recommendations.

Hope this good karma you put in this thread finds its way back to you sooner rather than later.

Many thanks
