Octavia rough road package rear spring OEM code

Featured Replies

Hello! Just recently my Octavia's rear spring's bottom part snapped and is now making a clunky sound when driving on a difficult terrain. I checked and the spring is now leaning a bit off form its intended spot and just waiting to break from the next place. I'm having difficulty finding the part's OEM code, even though I know the current spring is color marked as follows: yellow, yellow, red. I do not want to replace both springs as of now and I am planning to do the replacement at my garage, so I am asking for help if someone can spot the correct spring code? I've literally looked through over 50 options for rear springs for my car, but most of the different make models do not have any color marks on them. (The car is a Octavia II F 2010 estate, 1.4 TSI with a towbar). I want to order the part from an online parts store near me.

Unfortunately I was unable to find the springs from linked sites. Most of the springs that come up have a default picture without showing any color codes at all. Neither are the color codes in the products' descriptions. I will try to get a quote for the spring from a local parts dealer. If they can look it up, I will have the part code as well.

Did you enter your VIN for option codes?

You will then have the key to finding the correct parts.

On the site http://www.oemepc.com/, the VIN query's response was as following:
There is no result for your VIN code or your entered VIN code is incorrect!
Please try again!
(Yes, I am sure that the VIN is inserted correctly.)

On the next site: http://www.vehiclepartsdatabase.com/vehicles/allprivateroadvehicles/skoda/octaviacombi/14tsi/caxa/35624/shockabsorbercoilsprings
It lists tens of different springs, however, the color codes are not described nor shown visually.

On third site, http://optikoop.com.mk/autoparts/, it just says  404 We are so sorry, but the page you requested is not available.

The fourth site: https://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/skoda, it's just a VIN decoder, in which I can see that I have the following custom options (that I already knew anyway):
PK4    Rough road package
2UB    Heavy-duty/sports version: Rough-road design
1JB    Suspension system in rear: Rear shock absorption for rough-road design
Unless I could somehow look up the springs via the custom option codes, it is of no help unfortunately.

All links are functioning correctly.

The part you require is here:

http://www.oemepc.com/tvn_result/search/tvn/1K0511115CK

Now you have the part number you can search the relevant sites to find which manufacturers make equivalents and their part numbers.

With that info you can search eBay etc for the best deal.

Typically a pair of springs will cost less than £50 and are a diddle to replace.

was the rough road package offered/fitted to this model ? I thought it was only on the 4x4 as standard  I'm sure only VAG colour code their springs,  the chance of anyone else's code matching is remote.  you could look at LESJOFORS   app cat'   better springs than oem  --even if only fitting one now would it not make sense to buy a pair   "light bulbs etc"

The rear ride height on my MK2 Octavia is a little low, it has towed a caravan in the past, on my MK1 I fitted Grayston helper springs which made quite a difference, after a lot of searching I have ordered and recieved what I hope are heavy duty suspension/rough road package springs from Lesjofors, I thought being Swedish they would be good quality and am pleased to hear that is so.

They cost €20 each delivered but I have not fitted them yet, I also bought new bump stop rubbers, the foam gaiter things,is there a heavy duty version of these?

Yes, the rough road package was fitted to my car model when ordered new from the dealer. The oemepc site unfortunately doesn't read my VIN code to display parts list, however some other sites, such as VIN decoders, do.  Thanks for the link, MicMac, I will see if the part is listed there. To some other replies - the car sits high due to rough road package, so fitting an ordinary spring set to the rear would make the back look slammed compared to the front side. As of now, the rear springs have not carried heavy weights, so even with the current defective spring, the rear looks even. If the car would be old, I would fit a pair of new springs to the back.

Try kilen springs, they should do heavy duty tow springs for your model.  Find the part no from the kilen website as they have a online catalogue and then order from eBay.

I can't see what all the confusion is for, I've clearly linked to your OE spring with 1R 2Y marking and have keyed the part number into various searches with plenty of options to purchase.

If you are really determined to have a genuine spring, why not email Mike at this address: [email protected] and ask him for a quote. You could either just ask about 1K0511115CK or give him your reg number or VIN and he'll double check it's the right part number.  Actually he'll probably want to double check anyway, but I have no reason to doubt MicMac's research.
