Still waiting to hear following submitting the order form...

Have requested mid-March 19 as that coincides with my other lease, hopefully doable!

I ordered mine end of last week and today had a delivery update from Leasehub... 8th April! Was expecting March, so not the end of the world.

Right, all forms have now been received by Garland Skoda and the order had been placed! Looking forward to getting the first estimate of the delivery date.

In keeping with @gRoberts I will also be treating the Octavia 1.0TSi like a hire car. And as everyone knows, nothing revs as high as a hire car and nothing goes as fast as a red car! So I'm expecting big things :D

Just keep this in mind though ;)

Meh, well, got an update from Skoda today to say that my build has been pushed back 3 weeks to week 47, which means likely to arrive for December 15th.

Now to decide whether to hand my current car back on time, or make use of the 3 months extension they've offered.

Downside to that is, I pay for my insurance in one go and I can foresee my insurer charging me a fortune to change from one to another :(

I'd hand it back, use a hire car/bus/taxi/mates car for the interim. At least then you won't have 2 cars on the go at once for the better part of 3 months.

I'm still waiting for confirmation of my build week, hoping for around 8/9 in 2019, so delivery will be around 12/13 which will tie in nicely with my current lease.

I shared the offer round my family and my uncle just test drove the 1.0 DSG today and really liked it! He's got a 2008 Audi A6 2.0 (140) TDi so the power the weight ratio is roughly similar. Managed to get him £2,400 down with £73.27/month for 23 months. Hoping he'll get white thrown in for free too...

To be fair it would only be for a few weeks and i normally cycle to/from work. On the odd days weather is really bad I'd walk or catch a lift off the boss.

You should see what they can throw in for you for driving sales lol hell, I've got enough people interested in it too. If I didn't already have some floor mats, I'd be asking for those too.

Sods law Simpsons have some other nice PCH deals (not as cheap mind) - will keep that in mind for next time when the wallet will be less abused from other sources

I'll see nearer the time about getting the mats included!

Garlands have actually reduced the deal even further (for Energy Blue) to £2.4k up front and £69/month for the DSG, which is an absolute bargain! Only £230 more over the lease for a DSG over a manual!

I must admit, I did have a wobble today when I saw a deal for the VW Arteon, but its only the 1.5 engine and it would cost a whopping £2.5k more over 2 years than the Skoda! I think I can put that saving to a better use, like a holiday or a soft top!

See how it goes. You never know.

I'm amazed about the DSG @ £69 p/m - would love to try and get mine reduced further but the guys at Silbury have gone above and beyond as it is and I don't think I can cope with any further delays :(

Arteon - What a car... A little like the Superb. Mind, I thought bunging a 1.0/1.4 into a Octavia was pushing it, but I think trying to slog along that much weight...

Yep, it looks beautiful, but if I thought the 1.5TSi felt heavy and sluggish in the Octavia, it'll feel much worse in the Arteon! I'll look forward to a 2.0 280 Arteon next time!

I don't know why, but I really like them both in the turmeric yellow. The salesman who sorted me out has a superb in the yellow and whilst it's a little loud for some people, with the right vehicle, it looks amazing!

Agree with you on the yellow, looks interesting enough in pics to want to see it in the flesh! And we all know that tumeric is the latest superfood! I think going from a red Skoda to a tumeric one may be a stretch too far. Maybe a couple of years in a nice dark grey or black for me!

@maffyou @gRoberts How long did it take for you guys to get a build date? I've now had 2 e-mails from my local Skoda garage (last Tuesday and today) saying my order has been placed but they are awaiting a build date.

I know I'm probably being impatient, but just wanted to check if it takes 2-3 weeks to get a build date?

Thanks

Ordered on 13/09, updated on 28/09 with build date of between 29/10 and 04/11.

That's been delayed by 3 weeks though as I asked them to match a new price after the order was made.

Was told it would then take 3 weeks from build to arrive etc.

Well those build times have really increased!

My order went through on 26/10 and the following Thursday Lease Hub emailed an expected arrival to dealers 8/4. So I haven’t been passed a build date, and haven’t asked (which I’m not too fussed about really). Will see if that date alters over the coming months.

I was being quoted lead time of 22-24 weeks, so @gRoberts you seem to have lucked out - or got in at just the right time - to get such a quick turnaround! Not that I’m jealous...

Pretty much. I was sent the dealers matrix of estimated build times per trim.

That was on 13/09.

Have no idea how but dealership suggests that once it's built they will try and speed things up.

It's stark contrast compared to my SE Sport, which was ordered late October and I received it on 05/12. It was already on the boat (cancellation or internal order) and I delayed collection due to struggling to find time off to come and see it in the light.

Crikey! Now that’s the sort of timeframe everyone would like :)

Interesting to see the different lead times though.

Sods law. People rarely look for a new car unless there is an offer or something that lead them to it. Ultimately ends up being far more popular than anyone ever expected lol

@zeddicuscould you PM me the details of your dealer. I'm just about to pull the trigger on an 1.0 estate SE Tech DSG in candy white. I've been quoted £200 a month on a 1+23 profile, which is great to be fair, but I just want to make sure I'm getting the absolute best deal before I join the 1.0 SE Tech club :D

@dogdiego Happy to share the details here as the dealership have been fantastic! They are Garland Skoda in Aldershot and the PCH specialist is called Jordan Doe - http://www.skoda.co.uk/dealers/garland-motors

The special deal has now expired so I doubt Garland could quote on it. But to give you an idea, my uncle's getting a 1.0SE Tech DSG Hatch in Candy White for £2,400 + £76.16/month = £4,152 over the 24 months (based on the special deal). Yours works out to around £650 more over the term which, given its an estate, doesn't sound too bad.

Give Jordan a call anyway, like you said, its worth a shot. However, his quotes are based on collection from Aldershot, and given you're in Blackpool, remember that's going to add a fair few miles, petrol and train costs and probably best part of a day to collect!

So finally committed, albeit for delivery next June.

Cost me nothing up front and can cancel penalty free up until the car is in the UK (March ish)

Thanks guys for your help. Seems to be a few of us expecting similar cars!
