Software update

Featured Replies

After reading about kangarooing Karoqs on the other forum has the  1.2tsi 86bhp (63 reg) had any software updates of late? No-one has mentioned any update after a service and the engine performs well so I assume it is a perfect peach as far as Skoda development is concerned.

You are reading about Euro 6 1.5 TSI EVO Manuals.

You have a Euro 5 1.2 TSI that has had the Timing Chain issue addressed.

If there are any Software Updates or Enhancements and your car gets Main Dealer Servicing then when they are Servicing your car the Technician should know when running the diagnostic test if there are any Updates available, or TPI's / Service Campaigns or Recall actions.

Ask them.

63 reg 1.2tsi is fine, all been sorted by that date, do not touch.

All the not quite right bits were redesigned by 2013.

Just give it regular 9400miles/1yr good quality oil/filter changes and enjoy a great (finally) engine.

The engine they had finally A OK.

Then farted about with for Euro 6, then discontinued & replaced with a 1.0 TSI, then again messed with and have now fitted GPF's.

When VW Group build good engines enjoy that you got the 'Evolved' engine, look after and cherish because Newer & Improved is rather rare,

it takes years to find out if they built another good one.

They do build good ones, long life engines that just need a little care and attention and no messing about with IMO.

Good to know. It has not missed a beat since new.

In 2004 my brother-in-law bought a diesel Ford Galaxy. He chose it because it was a VW diesel and well regarded. It proved a good choice lasting 10 years and 110k with no problems. He part exchanged it for a Yeti 1.2 tsi DSG - no problems with that either over 3 years of ownership
