Hi , not really into techy stuff so I thought I would ask you guys that are how I go about this one.

 

I need to install a usb port in my 2011 Octavia Saloon so that I can charge a device on a regular basis whilst driving. I would prefer it as close to the small silver flip up lid which is by the gear stick as possible. How do I go about this and what do I need to buy to get the job done?

There are plenty of USB chargers that'll fit in the 12v cigarette socket so aren't far from where you want it.

 

It's certainly the simplest way of doing it...

Thanks for the replies guys. Hadn't come across those usb chargers before. Just ordered one. Thought I was going to have to hard wire a port in.
