recirc valve

Featured Replies

Wont be louder as its a recirc valve but could prove to be more reliable than the standard one.

Looks like the Forge 007P ( http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMCL007P )

IMO they do make themselves known more than standard. They are also highly recommended by many on here and elsewhere. Make sure you service regularly though eg every 10k miles. Free service kits are available from Forge.

Personally I go for one of these http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=&product=FMELIR

how un/reliable are the standard ones? Do they fail or ust start 'passing' to prevent boost reaching the usual levels?

I'd probably just get a replacement OEM (or TT or LCR one, if they're a higher spec,) one if my boost and throttle response started playing up.

The OEM DVs use to split the diaphragm quite easily although, apparently, the newer versions are more reliable.

Diaphragm DVs are quikcer responding than piston type, with the later generally being more reliable.

Forge do some diaphragm DVs now and are, apparently, more reliable than standard.
