Sleeper Felicia from VW Lupo 1.4 i FSI 16V (105 Hp)

Featured Replies

Had anyone transplanted a VW Lupo engine and gearbox on a Felicia body?

Here is a description of the engine.

If doable, any tips/tricks are welcome.

What gearbox type is that engine using? If 085, it might be possible to fit it to Skoda gearbox using 1.6 bits, just like AFH engine

Plent of info here...

I am not sure it is the same engine. Lupo engine code is ARR.

It is an automatic transmission.

And do you want AT Felicia? :D That would be first I'd ever heard of.

I tried to find some info about this automated gearbox, and some sites claimed that it's based on 085 family. If that's true, bolt pattern on engine should be similar to felicia's AEE. That would make conversion much easier, since you wouldn't need to fabricate custom mounts and shafts. And Felicia gearbox is sturdier, than 085.

Would need to transplant a lot more than the engine and box to get that running.

Watch the videos and tell me what is so funny about having an automatic electronic transmission that "happens" to have an up/down manual mode too...

Well, it sounds funny to have such thing in Felicia, which is great example of simple, reliable technology. It's like having automatic A/C, cruise control.. it just doesn't fit this car, it sounds funny, but in good way.

From that video, gearbox looks really slow...

Slow, unrefined jerky gear change and very expensive to repair.
