Clutch slipping or another issue???

Featured Replies

Hi, I bought a 2005 fabia vrs in April the car had done 90k. When I bought it I would notice the revs jump in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear. I assumed the clutch was on its way out. I have continued driving since then and have done 105k without changing the clutch. The revs still jump in those gear but it hasn't gotten much worse. Could I be a different issue like a bad map done by the previous owner? Has someone had a different issue or is it that I just need a new clutch. Just wanted to see what people had to say before buying a new clutch! Want to save some money

Maybe the dmf has failed.

Are there any ways to know or check if the dmf has failed? I think I read somewhere that if the dmf has failed it would sound like a bag of nails which mine doesn't?

Beyond my field of knowledge I'm afraid
