Booked in to BlueFlame!

Yeah I used too post on there till David banned me as I wouldn't sell my dSLR setup for the silly price he wanted too pay' date=' then tried to part ex all his 'overtested' hardware too!

The ITR went around 18month ago as it was reaching that stage where everything was going downhill, paint, cambelt, interior and I thought I would do better selling for the 95% of what I paid an move onto another car.

It was supose to be a 200sx/Mr2/MX-5 but a lack of decent quality ones and not having a load of time too travel the UK, meant when my parents offerd me their two year old Corolla for a couple of thousand off I couldn't really so no!

Kept until I test drove the vRS due too bordem couple of weeks ago! And bought it the next day.

Can't live without a good induction roar and a nice exhasut so the mods have to be done asap!

Miss the ITR more than I ever thought I would, but I don't regret selling it for one moment.[/quote']

:( Sorry to hear that mate. I always thought Hexus was ok. You learn something new every day I suppose.

I know what you mean when you talk of needing the grunt noises. I'm sure youll be nearly there soon

Dont forget to take your camera! :D

The 4X4 has higher emissions than the other 1.8T engines (150/180) with manual transmission.

This being so ,,,, can the ECU be re-programmed along the lines of a vRS to compensate for the lack of a second cat?

Or is it a case of "Dialing Out" the sensor?

As I read it, the sensor only checks if the cat is OK, it don't send a message to the ECU telling it to alter/adjust other parameters.

I had the problem on the 4x4 with the Blue Flame zorst & there are 2 cures that I know of, the offset block for the rear sensor or the Jabba IHI kit which uses a different cat & front pipe. the offset sensor block is about £25, the IHI kits a bit more but also brings a lot more FUN

Different cat & front pipe is too late for me. What's a IHI?

Where did you get the offset block for the rear sensor?

The IHI kit is the conversion that Jabba do using an IHI Turbo' date=' gives around 350 bhp   .

The offset block comes from the states, e mail Wayne at [email'][email protected][/email] for details, I think they are $35.00 Including postage

I got my angle block from the guy Stuart mentions and it worked well. However I have since had the 2nd lambda probe 'mapped out' as part of my remap. Also before anyone asks I don't have the angle block anymore as I sold it onto Stuart who I think has also probably done the same as he also used a different solution.

Ive still got it BUT im keeping it just in case

:)

kinda loosely related to this thread, but did you realise that if one of these police stop and check patrols pull you over and you have an engine warning light on, they are perfectly within their rights to run a diagnostic check and see what the code is for. If its for emissions and it has been on a long time and its obvious you are not going to do anything about it, they could have words about your car being unfit for the road as it wouldnt pass an mot. interesting.

My 4x4 passed an MOT emissions test with the blueflame system on.

ok fair point, but the point of my post is, if the engine light is on, the police can query it. modded car or not or whether it would actually pass the mot or not.

I'll make a new thread now for the days work,

My 4x4 passed an MOT emissions test with the blueflame system on.

BUT was the light on?

Well pointed out noodles.

His light wouldnt have been on as hes had the second probe mapped out.

No but the emissions were exactly the same as when it was on as nothing was changed to affect them.

Lets get this back on track.

I'm not saying that a Blueflame system will fail an MOT.

What I was asking is "why does the Lambda probe tell me my cats shagged" when we all know it aint.

OK this only happens on a 4x4 ,,,,,, but why ??????

Pretty sure it's down to the replacement of the twin cat setup which will cause the gas to flow slightly differently due to the way it diverts the gas rather than it travelling in a straight line like in the blueflame version. Blueflame could cure this though by manufacturing in the 'angle block' to their 4x4 exhausts.

Eddy,

Why did you get rid of your angle block/spacer & opt for the dial out?
