NHS Hearing Aid Beige.   Love it.

Black wheels look good !

It looks amazing GKodi! Super job.

A lick of top coat would just finish it off nicely :D

I have ordered the exhaust like spoilers. How did you install them?

Sorry it's not for me...   I don't like the primer grey or black wheels but if you do then great...   It's your car so feel free to ignore me.  ;-)

Hi Max48 - they're super-easy to install and come complete with some very strong adhesive pads, as well as some screws (I chose not to screw them into the bumper so as to keep the car original).

You just have to clean the surface of where you're gonna stick them and that's it

Looks great, enjoy your car!

Where did you order the dummy exhaust tailpipe? Milotec or original Skoda Acc?

http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/KAROQ/Bodykit/ is where I got the bodykit/spoiler/exhaust thing irfant. It's only plastic, but it looks the part. Someone thought it was brushed steel/aluminium and it's only if you get up real close that you'd ever know it's not

With thanks to everyone who advised, commented, suggested, recommended and helped me in my quest for black alloys, badges, lettering, how-to-pay for accessories to the super-skoda people in Europe and other inane questions  I hope you like what I've done, cosmetically, to my Meteor Grey Karoq to 'make it mine'.

It doesn't look overly 'Grey' in the first of the two photos as they were taken whilst that rare thing in the UK (the sun :giggle:) was setting, but I hope you'll [literally] get the picture.

I've also applied a few 'bits' to the interior, but thought that it'd probably be overkill to attach photos of the small silver trim I've applied to the speaker surrounds in the pillars, the same to the air-vents on the dash and the little silver rings around the push-buttons for the head-rests.

I think I'm done

You just need the black grille now hahaha

Hi Karoqer130 - I was considering the black grill surround, but I think that might be a bit “too” black

Get it vinyl wrapped, that way if you don't like it just peel it off

Hi GKodi, that's a nice look that you have achieved - congratulations.  How did you go about applying the black badge letters on the rear door?  I want to replace the silver "Skoda" and "Octavia" letters on my car with black letters.  I have seen umpteen videos of how to remove the existing badges with the use of a heat gun/hairdryer and fishing line, and how to clean up the adhesive residue, but I haven't found anything posted about how to apply the replacement letters/badges.  So I'm wondering what is the secret to a successful, tidy job? e.g. did you take a photo of the existing letter placement prior to removal, and then measure appropriate distances with a tape measure/ruler, and then draw pencil marks on your paintwork prior to applying the replacement letters?  Or is there a smarter/easier method that you would like to share (please)?

Use masking tape applied on the bodywork / hatch to get your straight line. use a spirit level or eye, mark the tape where the end of the letterings edge is to at.

Apply lettering above the tape with the top edge of the tape as the bottom edge for your letters / badges / decals or what ever you are 'sticking on'.

Easy to stand back and see the tapes top edge or bottom edge is where you want.

Thanks for your kind words CBWIlson! As Offski said, it's all about being able to use masking tape, getting a straight line and being very very careful.

Or, in my case, getting someone else to do it :giggle:

Sadly, I picked up a couple of large stone chips/dents and scratches on the front of the bonnet and had to take it into a bodyshop for repairs and to have the complete bonnet re-sprayed

So as a favour (and to soften the incredibly expensive blow of having the re-spray, given I've only had the car 2 months!), they fitted all the badges and letters for me

@ComeBackWIlson I don't know if you are aware of a product called Plasti Dip. If not have a search on the net and Youtube and see what is possible. Basically the crude way to put it is that it is a rubberised paint that only adheres to plastic and not your vehicles clear coat. Any overspray can be peeled off. You still have to approach it as though you are spraying that area of the car with paint so cleaning and masking off of the immediate area to prevent overspray is a must.

The idea is you can purchase an aerosol and spray the chrome effect plastic emblems without removing from the car.

I haven't used it myself but I have seen the results when used to 'de chrome' emblems to a matt black finish (other colours are available) and it looked excellent.

There are tutorials and tips out there to achieve the best results.

Its another option for you anyway.

Thanks, that's a useful tip and in my minds eye I can already see that working.  Cheers.

Yup GAZ1985 - I found a clip on YouTube about this very product. Looks OK, but the 'real thing' is unlikely to peel or fade or go all "orange-peely" over time - thanks anyhoo

Yes I can feel your pain regarding the new car needing bodywork so soon, it just seems so wrong.

I had considered taking that car to a bodyshop to get the lettering applied because I also want a black grill surround installed plus colour-coded Skoda logo's applied.

And then I thought that it seems silly not to have a go at it myself, and that with care and patience I can surely achieve a good result (not so sure about the grill surround though).

Which lead me to wondering how to apply the letters properly.  So thanks for your feedback.

Thanks Gaz1985 that sounds like a really good option for me to check out.  You've correctly guessed that I don't know a thing about Plasti Dip, other than coming across the product name on Briskoda over the last few days (and not knowing what people were talking about).  You've given me some decent info there and I'll definitely be looking into Plasti Dip further... and here was me about to submit an online order for a whole heap of black badges... your timing was great!

@ComeBackWIlson Your welcome glad to have helped
