Buyers Guide and what to look out for?

Featured Replies

I have looked, honest!

I'm on the lookout for a c2016 low mileage Octavia estate. Probably a small engined diesel. I want a car with good fuel economy as I'll be drving more than I do currently. I did consider a petrol converted to LPG as I have converted all my petrol cars to LPG, but the conversion garage is a little sceptical about coverting the petrol range - that's the feeling I got when they suggested I stick with a diesel.

Anyway, I know about the oil consumption issues with the Mk2 1.8TSI Superb, any issues with any of the Mk3 Octavia's?

thanks in advance

Nick

Got a 1.6tdi 110ps and easily get 60 mpg on regular runs. Very pleased with it. Done 22000 Miles with no issues. Only thing I don’t like is the anti stall fast tickover when you engage first gear. But I don’t think that is an uncommon feature on modern cars.

Had my SE Sport since Oct 16, essentially a run out model before the facelift, came with sat nav, 17" alloys, xenons, cruise control  so good value. My regular mpg is 65. It has taken us to Hamburg, twice France and Holland is is my daily driver, 37000 on the clock now and pretty happy with it, just regular servicing.
