I have recently bought a Skoda Yeti 2.0 CDI Business Edition.  The Amundsen system does not have a Satnav capability.  Do I need to install A GPS device and then upgrade the software?

More importantly is this possibe?

I am a newby to Skoda.

Welcome to the forum :)

I thought all the Amundsen versions had satnav? Did you get the car new?

Jim

If it is an amundsen, it might just need the maps SD card to work as there isn't an amundsen without satnav built in.

A picture would be helpful to confirm your headunit and one showing what happens when you press nav.

have you got 1 of these

You need an original as above as any normal sd card will not work you can download new maps from skoda update portal. you should have 2 sd card slots in the front of your unit it goes in sd card slot 2

If no sat nav on the unit you have a Bolero.
Does it have a NAV button on the right and how many SD card slots does it have?

To give an accurate answer, can you please state what year your car is?

If there is no nav button, it's very likely you have a Bolero not an Amundsen.

The difference being the Bolero doesn't have sat nav built in, nor can it be upgraded to support sat nav as there is no hardware support.

Your only real option is to replace the entire headunit I'm afraid.

L2k,

That makes sense that it is a Bolero, as Ive done a wee bit more digging about it.  I'll leave it for now.

Very pleased with the Yeti, great car.  Thanks for the responses.

Depending on the model of Bolero you have, and phone you use, you should be able to activate a combination of smartlink/apple carplay/android auto/mirrorlink and use sat nav from your phone:

Radios (Bolero)

- 5L0035200 no DAB/DAB+, MirroroLink only

- 5L0035200A with DAB/DAB+, MirroroLink only

- 5L0035200B  no DAB/DAB+, SmartLink (MirroroLink + Android Auto + Apple CarPlay)

- 5L0035200C with DAB/DAB+, SmartLink (MirroroLink + Android Auto + Apple CarPlay)

- 5L0035200D  no DAB/DAB+, SmartLink (MirroroLink + Android Auto + Apple CarPlay), hidden CAR menu

- 5L0035200E with DAB/DAB+, SmartLink (MirroroLink + Android Auto + Apple CarPlay), hidden CAR menu

Hi, I'm quite new here, just had my firs Skoda Yeti and cannot have DAB working... my yeti is equipped with a bolero  5L0035200C which I supposed (from your posts) to be working on DAB, once trying to select a different band I' stuck with FM only...

any idea? maybe an update could help? currently I'm hardware H22 and 0245 version.

TIA

When choosing different bands usually at bottom left is there an option to select DAB?

No just fm even with the wheel command…

The it is not a DAB unit.
DAB was an extra on all Yeti's, I paid extra when speccing the build of the car.

Following the MarkTB post with codes of the units it should have…and sounds odd that even AM band is missing…

It's possible it's been miscoded...

I certainly agree a C rev should be DAB capable. Might be worth finding a local VCDS user to take a look for you 🤔
