Pics of the cables and connectors included

Ok from the bottom pic I get that the GPS OR Phone bits could go into the gap next to the blue plug and that the double circle is aerial? but what on earth is the plug in the second, wait scrap that third pic as just realised it inserted an extra picture at the start??????

its a bit quieter than I remember on the Octavia Mk1 forum :D

so these are the option codes on the car

8L5    ANT    Roof antenna and "diversity" window antenna
8AG    RAO    Radio with CD/MP3
7Q0    NAV    Without navigation device
8RM    LSE    8 speakers (passive)
7A0 = Without CD changer/CD player
9W0 = without car phone preparation/installation

So I guess 8AG is the standard Bolero unit without phone prep, oddly it doesn't mention the multifunction wheel?  So if I wanted a OEM radio with phone kit what would I need??? Or are there better options out there for <£100????

I posted this in the ice forum but its quiet there so posting here in the hope of getting some more footfall

I have a 2011 scout which had a non coded "Audience" radio fitted.  I have removed this as it was clearly the wrong one and my daughter needs one for her Fabia,

I have steering wheel controls for Audio but not sure if these are used for phone as well if the option is fitted

I am trying to work out what I need if I want OEM look with hands free phone integration.

Or would I be better going for one of the cheap chinese double din units

No idea what the grey looking connector is.

Other than that, you have a quadlock and the AM/FM double fakra. I would expect any Bolero from a MK2 Octavia to be fine.

As for BT, it would need a separate module. Based on the quadlock, the wiring isn't there so you haven't got phone prep. I think the blue connector in the quadlock will be the aux in from the armrest.

I Guess that the empty bit next to the blue plug would be for phone bits?

does the bluetooth module come with the cable? as the ones I have looked at VAG on ebay seem to be just a module

Depends if you buy just the module or as a kit with a wiring loom and mic. You can also buy the wiring separately like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292629647324

You mention a multi function steering wheel (MFSW), do you also have a maxidot cluster fitted? This shows which doors are open in the centre panel of the display.

I only ask as there are various different BT modules so you'll need to choose an appropriate one for your car spec.

Yes there is the door display in the middle of the cluster.

OK Nice condition Bolero unit fitted last night and seems to be all good.

Dont have the phone bits but given they are trading @ £100+ I may have to wait for an ebay bargain.

bitch of a job getting the unit to sit flush though as the cable loom is really stiff and not able to get it to wiggle into the free space so ended up with the glove box out to get access to tug it from the back.

not the 5 minute job I thought it was going to be int he freezing cold

still be nice to know what that extra cable is for?

At a guess, it'll be an aftermarket GPS receiver for whatever headunit had been fitted as it looks similar to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152879713972

I doubt it'll go very far so it might be worth following it so it can be removed.
