Maybe sone ppl are already aware but for these who struggle reading many confusing threads around:

Yes you can easily get your own packaged SpeedCams via Skoda Connect online as My POIs. But without sound alerts.

 

To get SpeedCams with sound alerts you have to use Skoda Update Portal (where you get updates for maps and radio logos). There you can also upload your POIs and select option to have sound alerts (then you have to download them and put to SE card for update).

 

But... If you upload POI icons (Camera icons) in BMP or jpg format, everything goes fine except - you don't see your POIs on the map! (Yes you can search and list them, get all info on them, even hear the alert sound - but not see them!)

 

I found solution: you have to use PNG format icons in exactly 39x39 size with transparent background! Dunno if other combinations work but that one works for me.

 

So just grab some nice SpeedCam icons, resize/convert them to above format and package your POIs with sound.

 

 

You have posted some really useful information above but i think many forum users will not be quite as technical as yourself.

 

A dummies guide would be appreciated by many i suspect....especially updating the maps. 

First download desired POIs from somewhere.

 

For example https://poiplaza.com. Download POIs in Garmin gpx format. Unpack downloaded zip and find gpx file and icon in BMP format. Use Photoshop or some online image resizer to convert icon to PNG format, size 39x39 pixels.

 

Than go here: http://mydestination.skoda-auto.com/POIs

 

Click down in green box on link Import new collection of POIs. First, in top right corner select option for sound alerts (if you wish - it is recommended for speed cams but you may skip it for other POI types). Then upload previously extracted gpx, give the name to POIs and add PNG icon file (look into bottom of dialog, beside predefined ones there is option to add your own).

Repeat process if you wish to upload more than one POIs.

 

Finally download update package.
