Front wing removal.

Featured Replies

Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide on how to remove the front wing.

Looking at mine I suggest it is nothing more than undoing a lot of bolts and a few wires.
I suspect the bumper might need to come off first, then the wing liner.

I had to do this to refit the windscreen washer connector after I hit a deer. The wing has an upper and lower section held together by 10mm nuts which are awkward to get to as you need eyes on stalks and sensitive hands! Remove the undertray and the wheel arch liner screws and you can reach in. It is in the workshop manual.

The "Elegant" has trim down the side of the windscreen and one securing nut for the upper (metal) part lug hides under here. If you can't remove the trim stop there.

Remove the wheel.

The wheel arch liner has a number of T25 torx screws some of which also hold the engine bottom cover.

All the fixing screws for the upper require a 10mm spanner, flat, ring or socket.

Remove both bits of foam polyurethane (one inside the wing) and the black moulding at the inside rear of the wing. This is fixed by 2 plastic washer-type spire nuts, (10mm also).

Most of the screws came away easily except for the 2 holding the metal to the plastic at the front. A little oil in the threads helps all of them on reinsertion.

Good luck and patience with that then.
