Mk5 gti golf twintercooler

Featured Replies

Hi sorry if this has been covered before but I have been searching for ages and can’t find a definite answer . Also I’m new to this forum so please don’t batter me lol . My question is I have a mk2 facelift Octavia vrs which has the tsi engine i have been looking at a forge twintercooler but can’t seem to find one anywhere . I have been told that the golf gti mk5 twintercooler will fit ? Can anyone confirm this ?

Thanks in advance

yes it will.  Most Golf parts will fit an Octy

So will a golf R or an Audi S3 IC.

upgrading the existing IC is a bit less noticeable and doesn't affect your ground clearance and ramp angles going up/down driveways.

I have the following parts off other VAG group cars:

Rear GTI sway bar

GTI 312mm front brake caliper carriers & rotors

Golf R Intercooler

Golf diesel full undertray

Audi S3 lower control arms and console bushes

Audi S3 wheels

Octavia diesel wagon springs (on a 1.8tsi sedan)

Golf spec Koni Sports dampers

Forge Golf GTI catch can kit

Passat soft close grab handle dampers

NoName Golf GTI intercooler pipes

At one point I had Audi S3 front seats

other things my brain won't let me remember.

Nice one thanks for the response really appreciate it . Not sure if you know the answer to this but I have been told that the forge twintercooler causes turbo lag and that im  better off going for an upgraded replacement ? Also do you know what year the golf r was that the intercooler was off ?

Fit the Audi s3 ally ended intercooler it’s an improvement over the stock one not point going twincooler unless your going for big power??

They have got so expensive and haven't been made for years.

From the research i did when i bought mine, there isn't a lot of difference between the alloy end cap unit and the plastic tank unit in terms of flow and cooling.  The alloy unit will take higher boost.

Can't help on the Forge Twintercooler.

Brad, do you have part numbers for the above?

I bought the GTI sway bar for AUD10 off a guy that had upgraded his MK5.  A MK6 will fit as well.  VRS and GTI rear bars are the same size.  It's a tuned difference rather than an OMG! transformation.

The S3 console bushes should be  8J0 407 183 or Febi brand bushes part 33973

I haven't got the arm partno but I believe Audi S3, Passat & Superb are all alloy LCAs and fit the Octy.  In addition, the Passat (& Superb??) alloy hub fits the Octavia too but might require a slightly different tie rod.

I got all the info off GOLF MKV or MK6 forum a few years back

a couple of links but look beyond these
