Why is coding Lane assist difficult?

Featured Replies

I have gone through the list of tried and tested changes (throttle response, TSR, fan speed showing in automatic etc) and so far so good. I even have the offroad menu enabled (pointless but sure why not?! :-) ) The one thing i cant get right is the Lane assist. I have HBA and have successfully coded TSR so Lane assist is the only one of the trio of uses for the front camera. I've been through a couple of posts, but still can't get it. Can anyone give me a concise listing of how to code it? I've been using and obdeleven so i have my history which is handy so i can undo all my mistakes...

As an aside, does anyone know why closing the boot from the center console button is a special case?

Another aside - Android Auto looks bloody lovely on the 9.2" touchscreen when you enable the developer function in the app.

Don’t be so sure about that, several owners of OBDeleven have reported that other things were changed simultaneously, so when they tried to reverse the coding it screwed things up.

It was rumoured that Škoda did it this way as a safety feature... then they made it std on the Kodiaq etc so that was obviously not the case.

VCP is able to code it... IF you can find someone who has written a file for your controller (currently only the 2015 controller has the correct file written to close from inside the car)

My understanding was the screwups using the obdeleven were due to using the apps/credits? I've been using the long coding and adaptions.

thats annoying about the boot though.

Thankfully i've got back to a state of no faults.  I'll just keep hunting this one down.

Done. However  it feels a bit bit like "just because you can, doesn't mean you should".

I'm sure it's great for doing big motorway miles...

Just gave it a quick test and the active lane guidance just steered me round a gradual curve on the road, before the lane assist told me to stop being a ***** and start steering again....

Well done. Any chance of a quick walkthrough what you did?

https://www.ascoding.ch/en/activate-lane-assist/ followed the instructions here. I didn't have any of the "if available" settings and it seemed to take a while to appear in the menu system in the Columbus, though it was on the mfd.

Found this interesting, you can turn on software features that are disabled on your car?

What do you use Android Auto for? I just play audio via BT (I think this isn't high quality though, I wonder if the USB cable gives higher fidelity sound).

Yes, depending on if you have the correct hardware in the car. I have the A5 camera as my car came with High Beam Assist, so i was able to add Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane assist and it seems, traffic jam assist!

Android auto allows me to use google maps or Waze for sat nav which is also handy for traffic conditions (and possibly more accurate than the built in Sat nav) I also use it to listen to Google play music or Amazon music and it reads out text and whatsapp messages while on the move.
