Estate boot lights not working

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have an Octavia estate 2010. The boot interior lights don't work. It's not the bulb as I've swapped them with known working bulbs. Also I know the switch works as the the dashboard shows the boot open. I've had a bulb warning light on for months and all my other lights are working. Has anyone got any ideas what could be the issue. They used to work.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

I don't have a wiring diagram to hand but I'd be inclined to check the earthing for the offending bulb.

If I remember correctly, the earth stud is on the floor on the left hand side (passenger side). If you had a water leak behind the trim/cupboard on that side then you could have corrosion on the earth wiring connector.

Usual reason is not having enough washer fluid strength, so allowing the water in the washer pipe to freeze and pop off the pipe connector. Washer fluid then collects in that location.

Thanks guys. I'll have a look at the earth and see if it's that.
