I have a Skoda Octavia DSG AUTOMATIC on a 64 plate with 20200 miles on the clock. Occasionally when setting off, mainly in reverse,  but always on a small incline it will jump out of gear and straight back in with a small thump-like noise. You cannot make it do it. It has been looked at by the dealer but of course never did it when they tested it. Can anyone throw any light on this problem? Thanks for any help.

 

Mine does exactly the same. I've had the DSG box and Haldex clutch service but it makes zero difference. Still randomly bangs and judders then the rest of the time it is smooth. Not sure if I would have another Skoda, its not a bad car just slow and a bit dull to drive quickly but it is my workhorse and does that ok. 

Thanks for that this problem on a 3/4 year old skoda has realy put me off buying another especially when the dealers say they can't find the problem (bet they do when the warranty runs out )
