Any suggestions for brands of Winter tyres please for UK.  Car suspension is stock

Or is it like everything else, get the best you can afford ?

Yes, get ones with best rating (at sensible price) and avoid poor rating (regardless of how cheap they are)

If you want a brand at a good price, look out for a part worn set ideally with something like 7mm. Many people use winter tyres, put them on for one season and swap car where the new car has different tyre dimensions. Just add the cost of fitting.

I've originally used Goodyears in the past, but were older design (Ultragrip GW 3s). I now use Continentals.  I've ran a pair of T850s and currently got their latest T860s. No complaints with any of the winter tyres (apart from price £200-250 a pair).
